Scheduled Roadwork Resurfacing — Kidman Street, Blaxland

Blue Mountains City Council will soon begin essential improvement works at the car park adjacent to Blaxland Home Hardware, Great Western Highway Service Road as part of its annual Road Repair and Renewal Program.

These works will involve:

·      Reconstruction of the car park surface to improve safety and durability

·      reconstruction of concrete dish drains and footpath

·      installation of concrete wheel stops to improve pedestrian safety

·      line marking for the reconstructed carpark and existing raised pedestrian crossing.

When will work take place?

Works are scheduled to commence from Monday 9 November and will be carried out over approximately two weeks, weather permitting. The work will occur between 7am and 5pm, Monday - Friday.

Access and parking arrangements

Traffic controls and signage will be in place to assist with safe movement around the work area and enforcement of the temporary car park closure.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative parking in the area.

What to expect?

While Council is taking steps to reduce impacts, residents and businesses will experience increased noise from machinery, temporary changes to parking availability, and increased traffic in the area. We appreciate your patience while these important upgrades are carried out.
