George Street will be closed between Alice Street and the entrance to QUT from 12pm–5pm, Sunday 1 November 2026.
Kangaroo Point closure
Lower River Terrace, Kangaroo Point will have reduced parking from 5am–5pm, Sunday 1 November 2026.
Footpaths and bikeways leading to Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park along Lower River Terrace will be closed for approximately 40 minutes between 2.15pm–2.55pm, Sunday 1 November 2026.
Brisbane River closure
Brisbane River, between the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and Botanic Gardens, will be closed from approximately 2.15pm to 2.55pm, Sunday 1 November 2026. Water Police will be in place to monitor all marine vessels. Commercial and recreational vessels are requested to travel at idle speed.
Closure is for the Governor Swearing in ceremony. Motorists may experience delays during the event and are advised to allow extra travel time
