Armidale Regional Council would like to advise that reconstruction works will commence on a section of Kellys Plains Road, south of Translator Road, from Monday 3 August.
The project involves the full reconstruction of approximately 870 metres of road and is expected to take around three months to complete, weather permitting.
This section of road has been identified for rehabilitation due to pavement failure and poor drainage. Once complete, the upgrades will improve road condition, safety and reliability for all road users.
What to expect during construction:
- Works will generally be carried out between 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane during working hours, with traffic control in place to manage vehicle movements.
- Two-way traffic will be restored outside working hours where possible.
- A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will apply through the work zone and may be lowered further if conditions require.
- Road users may experience minor delays during construction activities.
Council asks motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time where possible, and follow all traffic management directions to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
